Features and Integrations

Can my goals automatically change based on my fitness activity?

Yes. Your calorie goal can automatically adjust based on Active Energy Burned data from Apple Health. If you have an Apple Watch, this metric is often equivalent to the Move ring.

How you set it up depends on your calorie goal:

  • With an automatic calorie goal, go to Foodnoms settings, select Body Profile, then Active Energy, and turn on Use Apple Health. You can do the same for Resting Energy.

  • With a custom calorie goal, go to Foodnoms settings, select Goals, then Calories, and choose Active Energy under Calories Burned Adjustment.

Active energy is read from Apple Health periodically, so you may notice a small delay between what the Health app shows and what Foodnoms shows.

Note for Mac users: Apple Health data is read on your iPhone and syncs to your Mac, so activity-based adjustments arrive on the Mac through sync.

Macro Goals

Macro targets based on your calorie goal, like percentage Splits, recalculate automatically whenever your calorie goal changes.

Calibrated Energy

With Foodnoms+, Calibrated Energy sidesteps activity data entirely. Instead of reading workouts from Apple Health, it estimates the total energy you burn, exercise included, from your food logs and weigh-ins: consistent training shows up in your weight trend, so it's already counted. While Calibrated Energy is on, it replaces the estimates above, and there's nothing to configure for workouts.
